The Boathouse at Breach Inlet

101 Palm Blvd
Isle of Palms, SC 29451
843.886.8000

Our roots run deep when it comes to Southern cooking, drawing from family recipes scrawled on cards in plantation kitchens to the modern locavore movement we see today, and relying on South Carolina's natural fresh abundance. Upon opening in 1997, The Boathouse pioneered a focus on serving diverse and delicious seafood that could be found in nearby rivers, lakes, and oceans. Employing this dedication we have grown to become an establishment on the Isle of Palms and a year-round destination for locals and travelers alike, drawing our seafood and produce from local farmers, fisherman, clammers, and shrimpers from around the coast.

Built upon the site of an old ramshackle bait shop across the road from the historical launch of the Civil War Hunley Submarine, The Boathouse was designed by Reggie Gibson to emulate a typical, turn of the century coastal South Carolina building. The interior was masterminded by Bucky Greenlish and Lawerence Waring with help from owner Richard Stoney. Our woodwork, which incorporates over 10 difference kinds of wood from mahogany to teak, was assembled by Matthew Montgomery, a local craftsman from Goat Island. The boats decorating our ceilings are true vintage rowboats, many of which are going on 100 years of age. They were chosen by owner Richard Stoney, who traveled the East Coast in search of the perfect sub models which best represent the childhood he remembers growing up on South Carolina's waterways.

Classic and craft cocktails are concocted at the vibrant bar. Colorful summertime cocktails and bites are served in poolside cabanas.

Chef de Cuisine Read Wolfe created a crave-worthy dinner menu based around seafood, meat and seasonal vegetables sourced from local and regional purveyors. Pair your thoughtfully prepared, stunning dish with something special from our wine bin, a local craft beer or a cocktail that sounds as delightful as it is delicious.

On the lighter side of our lunch menu, treat yourself to a colorful salad topped with fresh, local ingredients. Balancing the scale for bigger appetites is our Terrace Burger.

Mornings are glorious at our Isle of Palms restaurant. Plan your day of fun or recap yesterday's adventures over classic flapjacks or simple bowl of Anson Mills Stone Ground Oatmeal. We are open daily.

Long Island Cafe

1515 Palm Blvd
Isle of Palms, SC 29451
843.886.8809

The Long Island Cafe first opened its doors to the Charleston community in 1986. Over the course of its 27-year history this hidden gem of a restaurant, inconspicuously set within a strip mall on the Isle of Palms, has been a staple of both locals and tourists alike.

In 2012, new life was breathed into the aging cafe when restaurateur Michael Proetto and veteran chef Ravi Scher partnered to purchase the cafe. Immediately the renovation began: New flooring, furniture, paint, artwork, etc. The menu was also updated. Many classic dishes can still be found and the food on the menu is still very seafood oriented, however, it has been re-imagined with chef Ravi's inspiration. Several new dishes are also available, as well as constantly changing appetizer specials. This new iteration of an island classic has been an instantaneous hit and is thriving while managing to support local food producers. The menu includes seafood, pasta, American cuisine and desserts.

The Long Island Cafe is open for Lunch from 11:00am to 2:30pm and for Dinner from 5:00pm until, as well as brunch on Sundays served from 11:00am to 2:00pm. It has a fully stocked bar, and also accommodates large parties and accepts reservations.
